“Life is infinitely stranger than anything which the mind of man can invent,” said Sherlock Holmes. That is not far from the truth for me. Five years into teaching and my life continues to be entertaining and insightful.
Teaching is not just about moulding students; it is also about being moulded by others. For example, I learn a lot from my students. They sharpen my mind and remind me every day that life is one big game, and one should learn to enjoy the process. My colleagues play an equally important role too. I learn to recognise the Sarumans and embrace the Dumbledores (though not all appear in a white robe and a long beard).
Amidst all these interactions, it is important to be grounded. I meditate. It gives me an inner peace and adds to my evergrowing perspective of life.
