See the bright pink sofas at The URA Centre's atrium? Plop down and make yourself at home. Then take a deep breath to contemplate 40 years of the best works from award-winning British architect Richard Rogers and his partners, in the sun-drenched space.

The exhibition has been drawing visitors – especially architectural aficionados – keen to grasp the architects’ design philosophy. But it is not just the sketches and models of projects like the Shanghai Masterplan (pictured) that impress.

It is the commitment to breathe life into compact cities by designing buildings that integrate public spaces, that helps communities to interact and thrive.

Richard Rogers + Architects: From the House to the City ends on July 23, 2011.
Free admission. Mon to Fri: 8.30am – 7.00pm, Sat: 8.30am – 4.30pm. Closed on Sundays and Public Holidays.
