The Civil Servants Picnic
If only the work could be as easy as a picnic. Local poet Joshua Ip takes the lingo of the Public Service, so often used to mean so many different things, and puts them in more idyllic landscapes.
*Joshua’s notes: hor-lanned: or “hor-landed”, a term used to describe the state of being hopelessly lost, i.e., “gone to Holland”. This poem can be found in Joshua Ip’s poetry compilation, Sonnets from the Singlish.
