Digital Chatter

What people are saying online.

This is still but a tool. There is no end to tools. Ultimately, it’s culture and mindsets that matter most.
— Facebook user Ben Ang (November 11, 2016) about Workplace:
Thanks @MOM_sg for great customer service. Not often you see such a complete implementation of #designthinking in public service.
— Twitter user Julienne Chen (October 20, 2016) about the Employment Pass Services Centre:
I don’t understand why people here are asking why the Government of Singapore adopts Facebook instead of Slack. It’s not about features; it’s about familiarity. Also, the Facebook everyone uses here isn’t the same as [Workplace by] Facebook [that is being promoted] for the public service.

MyTransport (iOS/Android): Bus Arrival Time helps me better time my commute, maximising my time at home or at work. Journey Planner alerts me when I’m nearing my stop, and Find-My-Way gives me useful info if there are service delays.

Spotify (iOS/Android): I love the playlist recommendations – there’s something for every occasion: working out, hanging with friends, or an evening with a book. Best of all, I get to explore cool and new tunes by HTMLindie artists.

Duolingo (iOS/Android): A five-star app for learning a new language. I like that it systematically maps out a curriculum for me to learn and practise speaking, reading and writing a new language in fun, engaging ways.

Photomath (iOS/Android): Solve mathematical equations just by taking a photo of the question. It then provides a step-by-step guide, showing you how the answer is achieved. One of my favourite apps to help my students learn.
