Reimagine Challenge articles into short-form videos

Winning Entry

Molly Tay, PUB, Singapore’s National Water Agency:

I was a little stressed at work and wanted to feel energised again. The call to participate in this video challenge excited me because it is something I am interested in. When I was scanning through Challenge, this article on soft fascination caught my attention. However, I almost dismissed the idea when I considered details like where to film and how to act. I thought: “What a hassle, I don’t think I have the time.” Nonetheless, not wanting to be “all talk, no action”, I decided to go ahead. I began by jotting down the visuals in my head with words and doodles, and drafting a rough storyboard.

The planning process offered more clarity with respect to the specifics of filming, and probed me to think of alternate ways to present certain scenes. After I finished shooting the video, I felt accomplished because I had managed to produce something close to what I had envisioned.

Thank you for your entry, Molly. You win a $100 Klook gift card to relax and engage in more soft fascination.

Other Winning Entries

Woo Hong Hao, Singapore Police Force:

As a pet owner, I realise that pets have unique behaviours. That is why I connected with the article, “What We Can Learn From Our Pet Animals”. I adopted my red-eared slider terrapin in 2003, when I was still in primary school. Today, “Wu Gui” (“turtle” in Chinese) is already 20 years old. I vividly remember how afraid and shy he was the first time I brought him home, refusing to extend his head out to greet his new family. But shortly after, Wu Gui started to express himself more as he attempted to crawl out of his container. I referenced Wu Gui’s traits against the Challenge article and thought a video adaptation of this story would be timely. I hope that it encourages fellow pet owners to show more care to their animals.
